Abstract

790,333. Centrifugal pumps. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. Oct. 27, 1955 [Oct. 29, 1954], No. 30782/55. Class 110 (1). [Also in Group XXXV] A pump impeller and the rotor of the driving motor are mounted on a stationary vertical pin secured in the closed end of a housing moulded about the stator, the pin being held concentrically to the stator bore. In the submersible pump shown, a multi-armed support 6 into which the rotor supporting pin 4 is pressed is mounted in the inner flange 9 of a spider 8 the outer flange of which grips the stator core 11 and this assembly is placed in a mould which is so formed as to leave a bore for the rotor and a space abut the impeller communicating with a passage 49 to serve as the pump outlet. The impeller comprises blades 40 punched out of a disc 39 and each having tabs 41, 42 which engage holes in members 36, 44. Member 36 is secured to the motor rotor 27. The housing is completed by a metal plate 59 secured to strips 55 embedded in the plastic.
