Abstract

789,992. Strapfastenings. K. A. C.. Ltd. Feb. 10. 1956 [Feb. 24, 1955], No. 5623/55. Class 44 Two aligned cable ends 5, 6 are connected together by means of a toggle lever 16, the short arm 18 of which contains semi-circular notches 19 which engage anchorage pins 20 set transversely in a blade 10 of rectangular section. This blade, recessed at 11 to embrace the cylindrical head 9 of the socket 4 which accommodates the cable end 6, is secured to the cable end 5 by the socket 3; the lever 16 is connected by the pivot 15 to links 14 which in turn are pivoted at 12 to the head 9. The lever is swung about the pins 20, drawing the head 9 into the recess 11, until its channelshaped long arm 17 embraces the socket 3 when it is locked in an over dead centre position. Holes 27 in the cheeks of the arm 18 and holes 29 in the links 14 are then aligned and a pin 28, (Fig. 3, not shown), secures the lever against accidental release.
