Abstract

789,480. Universal joints. DAIMLERBENZ AKT.-GES. Nov. 24, 1955 [Dec. 14, 1954], No. 33728/55. Class 80 (2). [Also in Group XXXIV] In a Hooke's joint each pivot pin 4 on the interconnecting star is mounted in needle bearings in a bush 6 which is secured in a hole in the respective fork 1 or 2 by a bayonet connection provided by a pair of lugs 9 on the bush engaging grooves in the fork. Each bush is closed at one end and has an undercut square portion 13 engaged by a plate 15 bolted on to the fork 1 or 2 to lock the bayonet connection. The square portion 13 allows the bush to be turned by a spanner.
