789,619. Removing articles from shafts. KLEINBONGARTZ, A., and KAISER, E., [trading as KLEINBONGARTZ & KAISER]. July 29, 1955 [Aug. 3, 1954], No. 21932/55. Class 61. A tool for pulling internal ball bearings and other annular articles from their seatings, comprises a bridge or yoke member 18, 19 provided with a screw spindle 17 which is coupled to a spreader body 11 having two or more projecting and angularly inclined edges 12 adapted to slidingly engage in corresponding grooves in two or more limbs 3 which are pivoted to a crown plate 1 and are adapted to be inserted in the bearing. The spreader body 11 is in the form of a truncated pyramid and is screwed on the lower end of the screw spindle 7. The initial degree of spreading of the limbs 3 is determined by the adjustment of the abutment nut 10. The spindles 7, 17 are connected by a coupling piece 13. The arms 3 are supported from ribs on the crown plate 1 each rib having a plurality of spaced holes for selective engagement by pivot bolts 5 which connect the crown piece and pulling arms. A number of plate springs 9 are mounted on the spindle 7 between the crown piece 1 and a collar 22.
