Abstract

758,860. Wrenches. BRITISH TOOL & ENGINEERING CO.. Ltd., and JONES, W. R. Feb. 10, 1955 [March 22, 1954], No. 8244/54. Class 61 In a wrench wherein wrench arms extend from a central boss. the arms are detachably mounted each in a separate socket so. that any arm can be removed without disturbing the others. As shown, the boss 10 has six identical square-section sockets 13 four of which extend radially inwards from the periphery of boss in a common trans-axial plane and the other two of which extend inwardly from the end of faces 12 at right-angles to the plane of the other four sockets. Six arms 14 are provided each having a squaresection shank and a nut socket 16. The arms are retained in the sockets 13 by grub screws 17. The shanks of the wrench arms and the sockets 13 may be of any suitable complementary cross-section and the fixing means may comprise a taper pin. ball and spring or plunger and spring.
