Abstract
825,329. Bearings. HOHENZOLLERN, FRIEDRICH, PRINCE OF, [trading as FURSTLICH HOHENZOLLERNSCHE HUTTENVERWALTUNG LANCHERTHAL.] Feb. 5, 1958 [Feb. 21, 1957 ; Sept. 14, 1957], No. 3771/58. Class 12 (1). Aligned screw-threaded holes are formed in both halves 1, 2 of a connecting-rod bearing which are secured together by studs 3 screwed therein, each stud having right and left handed threaded parts 4, 5 respectively, which, when the stud is tightened, draw the halves 1, 2 together. Tightening is effected, e.g. by a key, access to a stud head being through a corresponding hole in the half 2. In a modification both threads 4, 5 are of the same hand, the thread 5 in this case having a smaller pitch than the thread 4. The halves 1, 2 can be aligned by centring sleeves or pins or, as shown, by tongue and groove joints 6. In a further modification, Fig. 3, bolts 10, 11 are inserted into halves 7, 8, screw-threaded holes 14, 15, respectively, being provided through the bolts coaxial with the stud holes 13, each stud 9 being in the form of a differential screw.
