Automobile or motor-boat hood or cover material consists of a web of fibrous material, preferably woven or netted, which is coated on the outer side with a coating of plasticised polyvinyl chloride, and is coated on the inner side with rubber latex, the inner rubber latex layer being much thinner than the outer polyvinyl chloride layer. The outer coating may be grained, embossed, patterned and/or suited in colour to the outer paintwork of the automobile or boat, and the inner layer may be similarly suited to the upholstery therein. The outer layer may be coated with a lacquer to afford protection against automobile lacquers or repair lacquers.
