Abstract
788,485. Knitting-machine needles. CUCKSON TEXTILES PROPRIETARY, Ltd. Jan. 27, 1956 [Feb. 7, 1955], No. 2712/56. Class 74 (2). [Also in Group IX] The weft inserter of a loom for weaving ribbon consists of a knitting needle, Fig. 11, having a U-section shank 125 in which slides a latch 131; alternatively, the cross-section may be as in Fig. 14. The latch 131 and the needle 135, Fig. 5, are individually reciprocated by cam grooves 117, 118 through the intermediary of follower blocks 127, 134, opening and closing of the needle eye being dependent on the relative speeds imparted to the needle and the latch.
