954,953. Weft patterning in gripper axminster looms. CARPET TRADES Ltd. Feb. 19, 1963 [Feb. 23,1962], No. 7056/62. Heading D1E. In a gripper type axminster loom one of two different weft yarns 22, 23 may be selected by rotation of one or other of yarn guides 18,19 to bring one of the yarns across two surfaces 16,17 and into the path of a reciprocating inserting needle 10 which has an open ended eye to carry the yarn across the shed. Selection is obtained by cams which operate guides by means of bands 25, 26.
