788,311. Explosive compositions. DYNAMIT-AKT.-GES. VORM, A. NOBEL & CO. April 15, 1954 [April 17, 1953], No. 11246/54. Class 9(2) In an explosive composition containing as its main components sodium chloride, ammonium nitrate and at least one aliphatic nitro compound, either or both salts is, or are, coated with at least one surfaceactive substance, as defined, which is added in a proportion of up to 0.2 per cent by weight of the salt or salts. The surfaceactive substance is nitroisobutylglycerine, dinitrophenol, tetranitrodichlorodiphenylamine, tetryl, hexamine, dinitrodiphenylamine, or a polydimethylsiloxane of 100 centistokes viscosity (silicone A.K.100). The aliphatic nitro compound may be nitroglycerine or nitroglycerine and nitroglycol. In examples: (1), a composition contains gelatinized nitroglycerine, dinitrotoluene, saturated calcium nitrate solution, wood meal, ammonium nitrate coated by crushing with nitroisobutylglycerine, and sodium chloride uncoated, or coated by crushing with dinitrophenol, or tetranitrodichlorodiphenylamine; (2), a composition contains nitroglycerine, dinitrotoluene, argillaceous earth, ammonium nitrate surface treated with silicone A.K.100, or hexamine, and common salt untreated, or surface treated with hexamine; (3) compositions contain nitroglycerine, sodium chloride, and ammonium nitrate coated by crushing with tetryl.
