787,737. Filters. RAUMA-REPOLA OY. May 17, 1954 [May 28, 1953], No. 22248/56. Divided out of 787,736. Class 46. Slurry is introduced at 10, Fig. 2, to an annular distributing duct 9, Fig. 1, which communicates by a continuous uninterrupted slot 13 with the upper surface of a strainer 2. The slot 13 is formed between the lower edge of a ring 12 and the upper surface of the strainer. The parts of the strainer surface not occupied by rotating scrapers 4 are covered by a dense layer of solids (e.g., fibrous matter) so that the slurry can reach the strainer surface only through slots 7 (one in the outer wall of each scraper) and the hollow interior of each scraper. Each scraper has a down-turned forward end 5 forming a blade and an open rear end, and preferably a projecting member 8 to guide the slurry into the slot 7. The continuous slot 13 is preferably below the level of the inlet conduit 10.
