Abstract

1,254,825. Mixing. NEYRPIC-BMB. 5 March, 1970 [7 March, 1969], No. 10656/70. Heading B1C. A process for suspending in a liquid cellulose or textile fibres to be formed into paper or into a non-woven fabric, comprises agitating the fibres in a vessel 2 at a pressure below atmospheric, and then throwing the fibres onto the surface 40 of a moving sheet of suspension liquid. Distributors 11 which form a seal between hoppers 10 and the vessel 2 feed the fibres to agitator blades 8 on shaft 6. At the bottom of the shaft a plate 35 having radial vanes throws the fibres through fluid sprayed from circular rows 30 of jets onto surface 40. The fluid may be water. water vapour, or a wetting agent. Air is exhausted from the vessel through perforated sheet 28 into pipe 29.
