Abstract

1443296 Pad forming RIEGEL TEXTILE CORP 12 Nov 1974 [12 Nov 1973] 48925/74 Heading D1N An apparatus for forming individual pads of fibres comprises a movable conveyor 30 with spaced apart perforated areas 35 defining the desired pad configuration, the conveyor passing beneath an open bottom chamber 10 which contains a fiberizing means 20 fed with a sheet of pulp fibres through a slot 12 means also being provided to apply vacuum beneath the conveyor. An air flow conduit 50 circulates air through the lower part of chamber 10 to turbulate the fibers and remove them from the non perforated areas of the conveyor 30. A roller 60 aids delivery of the pads by the conveyor. The pads may be carried on a backing material fed through with the conveyor. For Figure see next page
