Abstract

786,655. Cycle dynamos. NOTHELFER, W., and STIEBER, W., [trading as NORTHELFER & SOHNE, A.]. March 29, 1955, No. 9130/55. Class 35. A cycle dynamo 11 is driven from a gearwheel 5 having teeth 5b on its outer periphery and a braking surface engaged by shoes 7, 8 on its inner periphery, connection with the roadwheel being through dogs 5a passing between the spokes 2. The dynamo is driven by intermediate gearing 11a, 13, 12a and is coupled at will by a screw-engaged friction clutch 14 on intermediate shaft 12. The clutch engaging screw 15 has a toothed head 15a by which it may be rotated by engaging a manually turned gear 16. The shaft 12 has a speedometer drive gear 17.
