Abstract

983,462. Toothed gearing. W. REINERS, and G. WIGGERMANN, [trading as FIRMA REINERS und WIGGERMANN]. March 16, 1962 [March 17, 1961], No. 10124/62. Heading F2Q. [Also in Division B7] In a swivellable propeller arrangement (see Division B7) in which the drive by a stationary motor (not shown) of the propeller shaft 5 is transmitted through a connecting shaft 10 and bevel gearing 16, 17, gearing is provided between the connecting shaft and the propeller shaft so that the former rotates at least three times as fast as the latter. In the embodiment shown, the connecting shaft 10 carries the sun wheel 11 of an epicyclic gear having planet wheels 13 which drive the bevel wheel 16 through their planet carrier 14 and a shaft 15 connected thereto. The bevel wheel 17 is rotatably mounted on the propeller shaft 5 and, by means of a sleeve 19, drives a sun wheel 20 with which engage planet wheels 21 on a carrier 23 that drive the shaft 5.
