Abstract
1,089,025. Toothed gearing. G. & E. BRADLEY Ltd. Sept. 30, 1966 [Sept. 30, 1965], No. 41618/65. Heading F2Q. In an epicyclic gear train comprising driving sun gear 11, driven planet carrier 14 and fixed annulus gear 23, backlash is taken up by a helical spring 21 connecting planet pinions 12, 20 rotatably mounted on a planet spindle 19, planet pinions 13, 17 being pinned to a spindle 15 which is journalled in the planet carrier 14. On assembly, the helical spring 21 is deformed elastically. In a modification, the annulus gear 23 is replaced by a fixed sun gear.
