Swivel propeller drive with stationary drive motor The invention relates to swivel propeller drives with a stationary drive motor and specifically to those in which the propeller is driven from the stationary motor via a shaft shaft aligned with the swivel axis and an angle drive.
It is known that the steering device is continuously superimposed by a support torque generated by the angular drive in the so-called gondola and acting on one side, which supports the pivoting of the gondola with propeller in one pivoting direction, but also strongly inhibits it in the other pivoting direction. Both have the same unpleasant effect with manual control and it has proven necessary to make the control operation easier to install a strong translation into the slow, usually a worm drive, in the transmission connection between the steering wheel and the pivoting part of the drive.
The above-mentioned translation probably means that only a small part of the supporting torque is effective on the steering wheel and thus the object would be achieved if the described device were not associated with major disadvantages. To the same extent that the influence of the supporting torque on the steering wheel is reduced by the translation, the steering speed of the swiveling part of the system is also reduced. It takes very fast turns of the steering wheel to carry out small steering maneuvers in an acceptable time and in dangerous situations the slow pivoting option can be very disastrous.
The aim of the invention is to improve the tilting propeller drive in such a way that, with the same effort of manual operation, a steering effect that is several times faster is ensured and the disadvantages mentioned are reduced accordingly. Considerations in this direction led to the conclusion that the desired improvement is only possible by reducing the supporting torque.
Based on the knowledge that the size of the support torque always corresponds to the torque that is effective in the connecting shaft that transmits the drive power from the stationary part of the system (motor) to the pivotable part and is aligned with the pivot axis, the invention makes for a reduction of the support torque the proposal to provide gear means between said connecting shaft and the propeller shaft such that the connecting shaft rotates at least at three times the propeller speed and therefore with a correspondingly reduced torque.
In principle, the proposed minimum gear ratio i = 3 could be achieved by increasing the gear ratio of the angular drive common in the nacelle accordingly. In practice, however, such a measure encounters difficulties because the associated increase in the nacelle diameter and thus also the diameter of the propeller hub adapted to it would have resulted in a significant deterioration in the propeller efficiency.
The gear ratio of the angular drive is expediently designed for the smallest possible space requirement for the given power and an additional torque converter is connected upstream or downstream of the angular drive, or at least one additional torque converter upstream and downstream for very high drive powers downstream.
In an effort to keep the nacelle diameter and the friction losses caused by the additional torque converter as small as possible despite the minimum ratio i = 3 required according to the invention, it is expedient to design the torque converter as planetary gears , whereby the planetary gear connected downstream of the angular drive is preferably characterized by
that its sun gear encompasses the propeller shaft coaxially with radial play and without radial bearing and is connected to a coaxially mounted bevel gear of the bevel gear via a coupling sleeve which is toothed at both ends and allows a certain spatial mobility of the sun gear, and that its ring gear is rotatably connected to the nacelle housing is a related party, or forms a permanent part of the same, and that its planet gears are mounted on a web, which in turn is rotatably or rigidly connected to the propeller shaft.
In a further development of the gear set proposed for the gondola in the direction of minimal friction losses, it is useful to mount a bevel gear of the angular drive both radially and axially movably on the propeller shaft itself and to support it axially, and to arrange and train this bevel gear so that its toothing on the propeller shaft transmits an axial thrust that counteracts the propeller thrust.
With such a design it has a very loss-reducing and advantageous effect that the axial support bearings of the propeller shaft only have to absorb a differential thrust reduced by the axial thrust of the bevel gear and that the bevel gear transmits its full axial thrust to the propeller shaft via an axially acting bearing , but the latter only works with the differential speed existing between the bevel gear and the propeller shaft and thus with correspondingly lower frictional power.
In order to achieve the desired effect, it is necessary to note a special feature even with a torque converter connected upstream of the angle drive. This is expediently designed in such a way that the supporting torque that occurs with it is applied to the pivotable part of the drive, for example to the nacelle housing or components firmly connected to it, and in such a way that it counteracts the supporting torque of the angle drive.
When this torque converter is formed by a planetary gear, its non-rotating member, for example the ring gear or, in the case of a countershaft gear train, the countershaft, is preferably connected or rotatably connected to the pivotable part of the system stored on this.
In order to justify the effort, a ratio of at least i = 3 is required for the translation between the connecting shaft and the propeller shaft. In this way, the steering speed can be increased approximately twice as much compared to the previous versions of tilting propeller drives with a single angular drive. However, it is easily possible to carry out the torque converter in the context of the given installation space with a significantly higher gear ratio and accordingly achieve an even greater reduction in the power required for control.
The use of a transmission gear in the gondola, especially in the proposed form, is also very beneficial when z. B. the gondola shaft has an unusually large length or is structurally replaced by several struts. In this case, namely, undesirably large dimensions of the holding parts for the gondola would be required in order to absorb the high torques which occur with the bevel drive conventionally used in the gondola.
In the drawing, an embodiment of the invention is shown in section.
A housing 2 is flanged into the bottom 1 indicated by dash-dotted lines and the pivotable part of the system, consisting of the shaft 3 with gondola 4, can be rotated about the axis eX-X in this stored. The propeller shaft 5 with propeller 6 is mounted in the gondola 4. The axial guidance of the propeller shaft 5 in the nacelle 4 takes place on the support bearing 7 by means of two thrust washers 8. as a housing cover and as a bearing for the propeller shaft 5 is used by a bearing flange 9 arranged between the propeller and the nacelle housing
A connecting shaft 10, which is connected to the stationary drive machine (not shown) and aligned with the pivot axis XX, carries the sun gear 11 of the planetary gear, its ring gear 12 with the shaft 3 is screwed non-rotatably and its planet gears 13 a bevel gear 16 via the web 14 and a shaft shaft 15 which is non-rotatably connected to it and aligned with the pivot axis XX drive.
The bevel gear 17 engages in the bevel gear 16 , which is rotatably mounted on the propeller shaft 5 and via a propeller shaft 5 </ B > with radial play around and at both ends through gears 18 a gripping coupling sleeve 19 with which the propeller shaft is also connected to the sun gear 20 with radial play, the coupling bushing 19 gives the sun wheel 20 a spatial adjustment option.
The planetary gears 21 engage both in the sun gear 20 and in the integral or integral internal toothing 22 connected to the nacelle 4 in a rotationally fixed manner, and finally the web 23, on which the planetary gears 21 are mounted, drives the propeller shaft B> 5 .
The gondola 4 with the shaft 3 receives a pinion 25 with the shaft 26 that engages in the external toothing 24 of the ring gear 12 and is fixedly mounted in the housing 2. B> the swivel drive used for the control.
In the example shown, the angular drive 16, 17 is preceded by the planetary gear 11, 12, 13 as a torque converter and reduces the supporting torque, which interferes with the steering, by the torque occurring at its ring gear 12 and transmitted to the shaft 3 . Overall, all three gears together cause a reduction in the undesired torque corresponding to the torque in the connecting shaft 10 and to be supported by the pinion shaft 26 in one of the product of the transmission ratios of all three gears corresponding ratio.
Between the bevel gear 17 and the propeller shaft 5 or thrust washer 8 there is only the differential speed corresponding to the ratio of the planetary gear 20, 21, 22, which means there is a reduction in the frictional power which improves the efficiency. With the same effect, the axial thrust of the bevel gear 17 acting to the right in the example shown reduces that of the support bearing 7 by being supported on the thrust washer 8 and to the left directed pull of the propeller 6.
