786,179. Pneumatic road scavengering. AKTIEBOLAGET ASBRINK & CO. Nov. 8, 1955 [Nov. 8, 1954], No. 31843/55. Class 107 A street cleaning apparatus comprises a suction nozzle with an elongated orifice, a source of pressure water and water ejecting openings adjacent the orifice, the water forming a film on, and sweeping over, the inside of the suction nozzle. As described the invention is applied to the nozzle construction of Specification 786,180 in which the suction nozzle 1 is surrounded by blowing nozzles 2. In the annular chamber 3 thus formed are water ejecting openings 7 supplied by a conduit 9. Further water is ejected from manifolds 13. The water from these openings does not moisten the street surface and it may be heated to counteract ice formation and a simple circulating arrangement is described.
