Abstract

628,621. Nozzles. PYE, F. B. Jan. 8, 1947, No. 706. [Class 69 (iii)] In a nozzle having a restricted aperture E distanced from the outlet H to give either a small high pressure jet or a lower pressure stream by momentarily covering the outlet, the high pressure jet being restored by shaking the nozzle to clear the bore, the high pressure jet may be converted to a high pressure spray by moving a small obstruction, such as a wire or strip M, into the path of the jet at the outlet. The obstruction M may be part of a D-shaped plate J pivoted at I and movable by a handle K into or out of a slot at the mouth of the nozzle. The obstruction may also be in the form of a pivoted L.
