The atomised material stream from a central orifice 17 of a spray gun air cap is flattened by converging air streams from two outlets in walls 21, and surrounded by an air envelope produced by air delivery from two orifices 28 directed parallel to the main stream by curved deflector surfaces 31. The orifices 28 may be circular or slit-shaped.
