Abstract

532,437. Spray guns. LUMB, C. F. Aug. 31, 1939, No. 24977. [Class 69 (iii)] A spraying gun &c. comprises a main nozzle through which material can be sprayed in an atomized state and an auxiliary nozzle through which a variable amount of compressed air can be delivered into the material sprayed at the point of exit from the main nozzle. The material is fed through the duct b into the chamber b<SP>3</SP> by the action of compressed air delivered from duct e through a jet g and the material is sprayed at the nozzle end of the duct h. An auxiliary nozzle is formed by a sleeve l screwed into the gun. The compressed air passes through the ducts f<SP>1</SP>, f<SP>2</SP> into the chamber surrounding the main nozzle and emerges at the exit of the main nozzle. The quantity of compressed air is varied by screwing the sleeve l to vary the effective size of the duct f<SP>2</SP>.
