785,871. Wood-working machines. ETABLISSEMENTS GUILLIET, COMMERGNATGUILLIET ET CIE. May 29, 1956 [Feb. 29, 1956], No. 16624/56. Class 145. The feed table 14, Fig. 1, of a woodworking machine such as a planing or trizing-up machine is mounted on parallel links 15, 16, 17, 18 counterbalanced by a spring 26 and the adjustment of the links for setting the height of the table is made by a friction-locked control lever 38. The spring 26 is connected at one end to an arm 24 on the link 16 and at the other to a variable length rod 27, 28 which is connected to a pivot 23 on the machine frame and is adjustable by a turnbuckle 29. Movement of the table to alter its position is effected through an arm 31, Fig. 4, fixed to the link 17, by the control lever 38 which is pivotally mounted on the arm. A bolt 43 screwed in the lever 38 is urged into contact with the face of a graduated segment 34 on the machine frame by a spring 41 to effect locking. In operation, the lever 38 is moved against the spring 41 so that the bolt 43 clears the segment, thus allowing the arm 31 to be swung vertically until the desired position of the table indicated by a pointer 33 co-operating with the segment 34 is reached, upon release of the lever 38 the table 14 is locked in position.
