Abstract
785,675. Seals. MOOLENAARS, J. April 23, 1956 [April 25, 1955], No. 12323/56. Class 146(2) In a manually closable seal comprising two integral box-shaped sections, between which a cord 16, 17 &c. may be sealed by bending the sections together; the outermost free edge of one section is bent up at 7, provided with a slot 9, extending beyond the slot towards the bending place 2, and then bent inwardly to form a transverse partition 10, and is provided with a depending tongue 13, 18, while an apertured lip 14 is provided on the outermost free edge of the other section, so that when the sections are bent together the lip 14 passes through the slot 9 and is guided by the inner side of the first section, and the tongue 13, 18 engaged an aperture 15. In the construction shown in Figs. 2 and 3, the first section is bent to form walls 7, 8, 10, 11, and 12, the latter terminating in tongue 13, and an obliquely cut connection 22 is formed between walls 8 and 12. The material is preferably weakened at 21 to facilitate bending. In the construction shown in Fig. 5 there is no wall 12 and the tongue 18 is punched from wall 7. Wall 11 may also be omitted. A depression 6 is formed in the first section, and the lip 14 is recessed at 19 and 20 to facilitate deformation of the lip during closing. The end of the lip 14 may be pointed, and the seal then used for marking poultry &c.
