784,887. Disc brakes. TEVES, H., and TEVES, E. A., [trading as TEVES MASCHINEN-UND ARMATURENFABRIK KOMM. GES., A.]. July 7, 1955 [Aug. 10, 1954], No. 19700/55. Class 103 (1). In a " spot-type " disc brake two axially movable friction lining carrying pressure plates 2, 3 are provided one on each side of a rotatable brake disc 1; pressure plate 2 being secured to a pin 4 sliding in a stationary brake carrier 7, a piston 5 secured to pin 4 being slidably received in each of two axially displaceable wheel brake cylinders 6, 12 to which is secured the friction lining carrying pressure plate 3. When hydraulic fluid is fed into annular space 11, the piston 5 of each wheel brake cylinder is displaced to the right, together with pin 4, causing the brake lining carried by pressure plate 2 to be pressed against brake disc 1, and the wheel brake cylinders together with pressure plate 3 are displaced to the left to bring the friction lining carried by the latter into frictional contact with the brake disc 1. Mechanical actuation of the brake is achieved by providing brake levers 8 and 13 arranged rotatably and axially displaceably about piston-rod 9 and communicating through balls 17 arranged in conical cut-outs 15 with brake cylinders 6 and 12 likewise provided with conical cut-outs 16 on the adjacent side.
