In a disc brake diametrically-opposed brake casings 6, 7 are provided which enclose two hydraulic actuating cylinders 8 whose pistons 9 act on brake friction pads 10 of non-metallic material which are adapted to be urged into engagement with two axially-slidable and rotatable brake discs 4, 5 to press the latter into contact with brake rings 12 of metalceramic lining material mounted on both sides of an annular web 11 interposed between the two halves 6<SP>1</SP>,6<SP>11</SP>and 7<SP>1</SP> , 7<SP>11</SP>of the brake casings.
