Abstract

784,049. Snow ploughs. PEITL, J. May 23, 1956 [May 2, 1956], No. 15989/56. Class 107 A snow plough having the clearing edge of the share divided into several sections has the sections spring biased in a series of pockets the pockets being reinforced by a steel rail extending along the length of the plough share and connected to it and the plough frame. Slots are provided in the rail to continue the pockets and thus to receive and guide the sections. Fig. 4 shows the rail 4 strengthening the pockets 3 and accepting the sections 2. A curved plate 16 deflects the snow from the driver's cabin. The end section 9 of the snow plough (see Fig. 1) is arranged on a pivot 15 which in turn is spring-loaded by leaf springs 13. The end plate is also secured to the main plough by a safety pin (not shown) sliding in a slot so that if the end of the plough engages an obstruction the section can yield without damage. The forward end of the plough is provided with slides 7 and rollers 8 to decrease frictional forces on it when it engages the road.
