946,680. Snow ploughs. J. B. HOWIE Ltd. Oct. 19, 1961 [Oct. 19, 1960], No. 35796/60. Heading E1G. A framwork 3-5 supporting, by means of links 2, a snow plough blade 1 is mounted on a vehicle attachment frame 9 in such a way that the blade can move relatively to the vehicle in a substantially vertical plane transverse to the path of movement of the plough. A detachable pivot pin 14 passes through apertures 7 and 8 in the members 4 and 5 of the blade supporting framework and a sleeve 13 rigidly secured to the frame 9, the aperture 7 being enlarged to at least one and a half times the diameter of the pin 14 so that if the blade or the vehicle strikes a roadside obstruction the blade can move upwards. The frame 9 is mounted on trunnions 11 on the vehicle. To prevent unwanted movement of the framework 3-5 about the pin 14 bracing members 18 extend between the members 5 and the front of the vehicle in such a way as not to interfere with vertical movement of the blade.
