Abstract
762,835. Agricultural implements. CRUIKSHANK & CO., Ltd., SHANKS, T., and MARSHALL, J. Nov. 30, 1955 [Dec. 6, 1954], No. 35226/54. Class 6(1). A plough is provided with a point bar which is resiliently loaded by means of a spring extending parallel to and adjacent to the bar. As shown, a point bar 4 passes through a front guide 6 and a rear guide 7 and is provided with a collar 10 and pin 11 which may be located in any one of a series of holes 9 in the bar 4. The bar is resiliently loaded by means of two compression springs 14 mounted on rods 8 which are screwed in the collar 10, the springs abutting against the guide 7 and heads 13 on the ends of the rods 8. The initial compression of the springs can be adjusted by screwing the rods more or less into the collar 10. The point bar may be resiliently loaded by a single spring positioned either above or below the bar. The bar may be loaded by one or a pair of tension springs in lieu of the compression spring or springs.
