Abstract

568,154. Road levelling. BOMFORD & EVERSHED, Ltd., and BOMFORD, D. R. July 24, 1943, No. 12059. [Class 107] [Also in Group XXI] In means for filling trenches with earth, and for other earth removing, grading or levelling operations, with a blade-like member 6 carried at the front of a frame 8 by which it may be connected to a tractor 7, the blade-like member has at or near its lower edge a spindle 9 carrying one or more rearwardly and forwardly projecting members 10, 10a, each member 10 forming a skid by the rocking of which the height of the member 6 may be varied, and each member 10a passing through a slot 6c in the member 6 to act as a tine ; the spindle 9 is adjusted, to move the members 10, 10a by means of a bifurcated rod 11 and a rotatable tube 13 with projections 13c co-operating with a slotted plate 14 to hold the parts. The frame 8 has on one or both sides a bracket 15 which may be adjustably connected to a perforated bar 16a on a chain 16 to check downward movement of the parts. The members 10, 10a may be integral with each other, or separate and, if desired, laterally separated.
