Abstract

546,465. Snow ploughs. BURGESS, B. Dec. 2, 1940, No. 17153. [Class 107] A snow plough disposed obliquely in front of a propelling vehicle 21 such as a tractor has the snow board in two or more sections 10, 11 connected together for relative movement about a horizontal axis 12 arranged centrally of the depth of the board to accommodate the road camber. As shown in Fig. 4, the abutting edges of the sections are cut away at 13 and connected by a bar 14 moving in guideways 16a to permit relative pivoting. The sections are connected to the front axle by bars 20 and to the rear axle by side bars 22, crosspiece 29 and arms 30. The bars 22 are also connected to the vehicle frame by hinged bars 31. The sections 10, 11 may carry adjustable skids for raising the snow board from the road surface for easy transport.
