886,572. Snow ploughs. TORNEY, A. J. Jan. 8, 1960 [Jan. 15, 1959], No. 715/60. Class 107 A trip blade unit 12 for attachment to the bottom edge of a mould board 10 of a snow plough comprises a trip blade 27 bolted to the lower of two angular section members welded together and covered by a steel sheet face 24. Pairs of ears 29 spaced lengthwise of the unit carry pivots 30 which extend through rearwardly and upwardly extending aligned slots 31 in ears 32 secured to a brace 33 at the bottom edge of the mould board. Further pairs of ears 34 also spaced lengthwise of the unit are pivotally attached to piston rods 36 which slide in cylinders 38 attached to the mould board and bear against springs 40, 41 housed therein. The blade may trip on encountering an obstruction without raising the snow plough.
