Abstract
781,120. Air-blast switches. ETABLISSEMENTS MERLIN & GERIN SOC. ANON. June 1, 1955 [June 1, 1954], No. 15723/55. Class 38 (5). In a remote control arrangement for an air-blast circuit-breaker having its blast valve 22 adjacent to the arcing chambers 17, 19 and controlled by hydraulic means, an air valve controlling the operation of an isolating switch is actuated by compressed air derived downstream of the blast valve 22. The blast valve 22 is opened on the opening of a relay valve 20 by a piston 43 when liquid in a cylinder 35 and pipes 37, 38 and 41a is moved by a piston 34 on the application of compressed air to a piston 29 generally as described in Specification 667,724. When the valve 22 is opened, compressed air is supplied to a cylinder 50 to move a piston 51. Piston 51 moves a piston 52 to cause movement of liquid in a cylinder 53, pipes 55, 40 and 59 so that a piston 61 is moved to open a valve 63. This admits compressed air from the cylinder 64 to a pipe 66 supplying the isolating switch operating mechanism (not shown). Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 667,724.
