Abstract
780,909. Feeding cigarettes into hoppers. KÍRBER, K. Sept. 30, 1955 [Oct. 12, 1954 ; Feb. 17, 1955], No. 27858/55. Class 78 (1). Cigarettes are fed from a cigarette-making machine to hopper 3 by endless conveyer 2, the cigarettes falling between the pins 6 of rotating drum 4 and being thus introduced into the hopper. Pins 6 are movable longitudinally and radially in the drums so as to substantially disappear at the top of their rotatory movement. The cigarettes heaped within the hopper are smoothed out by endless belt 10, pivoted plate 7 rising when the hopper is full to stop the cigarette-making machine and conveyers 2 and 10. In a second embodiment three such drums are employed positioned vertically one above the other.
