Abstract

780,840. Creels for warping. HOLT, Ltd., T., HOLT, F. and LEE, G. Aug. 10, 1953 [May 10, 1952], No. 11869/52. Class 142(1) A warping creel comprises a frame 10 and vertical shafts 11 on which are brackets 12 carrying yarn packages P, all the shafts being rotatable in unison by an electric motor to bring reserve packages into the working position. The yarns pass through tension devices 15, 16 and thread guides 14. The creel is suitable for single end warping, for single end warping for pattern work or with reserve packages, or for magazine working. The motor 23 turns the shafts 11 by chain gearing and by two shafts 22 one on each side of the creel. The shafts 22 turn certain of the shafts 11 through worm gearing 30 and bars 19 connected to arms 20 on the tops of the shafts 11 ensure that all the shafts 11 turn together.
