Abstract

926,983. Winding yarns. BARMER MASCHINENFABRIK A.G. Oct. 30, 1959 [Oct. 31, 1958], No. 36957/59. Classes 120 (2) and 120 (3). A package of synthetic threads consists of individual packages on a common tube, these packages being in contact with one another. Two threads are wound simultaneously side-byside on a tube by thread guides which have the same length of travel and are arranged to bring layers of each thread into abutment in a plane at right angles to the tube axis or on any other surface of revolution generated about the tube axis. The traversing means may be a rotary thread guide with two grooves or guide arms spaced apart by half the length of a double package. Such guide arms may be pivotable and under the control of a guide bar 35 pivoted at 36 and moved by a lever 39 in dependence on package growth through a bobbin support arm 14 so as to form a sloping side on each package. If necessary the thread guide arms 27, 28 may each be caused to overlap the travel of the other to ensure that the individual packages are formed in contact. Where precision-wound packages are produced, the extent of overlap of the thread guides may be varied. Conical packages may be formed.
