In a lazy tongs type of expandable warping comb, the teeth 5a-5d and 6a-6d are disposed on lines at an angle to the centre line of the bar 1 on which they are mounted in order that warp threads F coming from the two halves of the creel and passing respectively round opposite sides of the middle teeth 5d, 6d shall have the same spacing as the other threads. If the comb is made with its middle point at the junction of two bars (e.g. the point 8), the teeth on each bar lie on a single line inclined to the centre line of the bar.
