780,693. Stoppers. GRUBER, L. Jan. 12, 1956 [Jan. 12, 1955], No. 1127/56. Class 125(3). A container closure comprising an apertured screw cap 23 which engages threads 3 on the neck 2 of the container 1 and screws down on to an inner member 26 of rubber or polythene engaging an extension 4 on the neck has the cap formed with a recess 19 and bores 22, 25 and the inner member 26 has passages 11, concentric. ribs 13, 14, 16 on its upper face and a cylindrical projection 21 so that when the cap is screwed down the end face of recess 19 bears on ribs 13, 14, 16 to provide a seal, projection 21 enters bores 22, 25 any liquid drops forming on the upper conical part of the cap being collected in annular grooves 27, 28 in the cap. A downwardly extending projection 21a which may be omitted is said to increase the rate of flow of the container contents by restricting the crosssection area of the interior passage 5 of the neck.
