Abstract

780,285. Electrically-released switches; actuation of switches. SPECIALTIES DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION. July 15, 1955 [Aug. 20, 1954], No. 20580/55. Class 38 (5). A time-delay control device comprises a generally cylindrical cam 16 biased by a spring 17 and having a flat surface 24 to effect the actuation of a switch unit 15 after a short timedelay when a stop finger 39 is disengaged from a recess 25 in the cam. The finger 39 is carried by a pivoted arm 36 and is withdrawn on the energization of a solenoid indicated at 40. The spring 17 is connected between a pin 30 on the cam and either of two ears 35 on an adjustably mounted plate 19. When the cam is released it is rotated in an anti-clockwise direction until the surface 24 opens or closes the switch 15, the movement of the cam then being terminated by the pin 30 engaging a spring 50. The device is reset by means of a manually operable lever 48 and gears 45, 46. The switch 15 may be a conventional micro-switch and the casing of the device may be moistureproof.
