Abstract
828,532. Time switches. WENDER, E. J. March 26, 1956 [Dec. 25, 1954], No. 36203/57. Divided out of 828,531. Class 38 (5). A process timer comprises a knob 21 secured to a collar 28 carrying a stop 38 which can be rotated relatively to a micro-switch 40 to preset a time interval. The switch is normally held open by an arm 36 secured. to a clutchplate 35 rotatable in one direction about a rod 30 by a spring 37 and in the reverse direction by a clutch-plate 32 driven by a motor 34. The clutch-plate 32 is normally urged upwards into engagement with plate 35 but can be depressed away therefrom to start a timing operation by momentary depression of the rod 30. This releases the plate 35 which is rotated by spring- 37 until arm 36 abuts stop 38. The switch 40 thus closes to energize the motor which on release of the rod 30 returns the clutch plate 35 and arm 36 to open the switch at the end of the desired time interval. The load is connected in parallel with the motor.
