Abstract

981,303. Time switches. F. MORSCHEL. Feb. 9, 1961, No. 4843/61. Heading H2B. A time switch driven by an electric motor 2 through a clutch 3 has a spindle 5 that rotates to allow a member 21 to actuate a switch 25 via a roller 26. When the clutch is disengaged a return spring 11 restores the spindle to its initial position. The clutch is operated by an electromagnet (not shown) acting through a coiled compression spring. If the electromagnet fails to release a pin 30 engages a ramp 29 and raises the spindle, thus releasing the clutch. To alter the timing a button 18 is depressed and a pin 20 enters a hole in the member 21 which can then be moved to a new location. A further arm (not shown) also engages the switch.
