Class 139 [Also in Groups XXIV and XXXVII], In an escapement device, particularly for a time-delay mechanism in an electric switch (see Group XXXVII), an escapement wheel 47, Fig. 4, or other toothed member, controlling the clockwise angular movement of a shaft 25 is movable along slots 49 into and out of engagement with a pivoted escapement lever 46 so that the escapement is disengaged by link 40 when the shaft 25 is moved anticlockwise but is re-engaged as soon as the shaft 25 moves clockwise. A rod carrying a mass 55 is bolted to the escapement lever 46. The wheel 47 is biased towards the lever 46 by springs 50 and is linked to an arm 39 on the shaft 25, the link pin 51 on the wheel 47 engaging slots in supporting side plates 43.
