778,561. Bracken-cutters. NEW ZEALAND PASTURE IMPLEMENT CO. PROPRIETARY, Ltd. Jan. 25, 1956, No. 2506/56. Class 6(3). A bracken-cutting attachment for a tractor 3 comprises a downwardly-directed shaft 4 driven by gearing 5 from the power take-off 2, an extension 9 on the end of the shaft, a disc 14 on the end of the extension and knives or chains 16 loosely attached to the disc to rotate therewith substantially horizontally and close to the ground. The extension 9 comprises a tube flanged at both ends, the upper flange being bolted to a flange on the shaft 4 and the lower flange being bolted to the disc. Arms 15 are welded to the disc 14 to carry the chains 16, which may be replaced by pivoted knives.
