777,697. Pipe couplings. MITCHELL, R. J. Feb. 4, 1954 [Nov. 19, 1952], No. 29188/52. Class 99(1) A coupling member 4, having screwthreaded ends to receive the screwed ends of the pipes 6, has bonded in a recess 9 therein a C-shaped rubber sealing ring 1 the free ends 3 of which are frusto-conical and grip the ends of the pipes 6. The member 4 may be of metal, ebonite, or moulded plastic. In the Provisional Specification, modifications are described in which the ends of the pipes are flanged and the sealing member is attached to a channelshaped ring which is secured to the pipes by separate securing means.
