Abstract

[Also in Group X] A gulley box 1 for ground drainage has a cleaning opening 5 with channel 6 providing a liquid odour seal with the cover 7, chamfered recesses 9 being provided for a tool to lift the cover, and the gulley having a projecting edge 18 with an interrupted marking fillet 21 so that sealing material can be built up outside the fillet leaving water-collecting channel 19 and percolating holes 20 clear. In a modification, chamfered recesses 9 are replaced by chamfering extending all round the opening. Fig. 5 shows an attachment 23, stated to be suitable for gulley boxes for use with urinal channels, which can be mounted on the cleaning opening 5 of Fig. 1 to provide a raised opening 5.
