A bath 4 has a door 1 vertically slidable into an opening in one side of the bath, with sealing means (16), Fig. 3 (not shown) between side and bottom edges of the inner face of the door and the said bath side. A panel 5 having a corresponding cutout covers the said bath side, which side has a slot 15 below the opening into which the door may be pushed until the top 2 of the door is approximately at the height of the bottom of the opening, top 2 being level with the rim 3 of the bath when the door is raised. Vertical T-sectioned edges 11 of the door slide in T-sectioned slots (10), Figs 2, 3 (not shown), in the said bath side adjacent the opening and continuing into slot 15. The sealing means (16) comprises a sealing strip fitted into a groove down the inner faces of "necks" (12), Fig. 3, of the T-sections 11 and across the bottom of the door inner face, the strip also providing a friction grip to retain the door in the raised position when its inner face is stated to be substantially flush with the inner surface of the bath. Surfaces (13), Fig. 3, on the door extend obliquely from the "necks" 12 towards the inner face of the door and slide over surfaces (14) on the said bath side extending from the slots (10) obliquely towards the bath inner face. The bottom of slot 15 may be connected to the bath waste pipe. The bath is supported by cradles 16A having pegs 17 locating in recesses in the bath, other pegs locating in holes in bath panels 5, 6. Cradles 16A are formed from the same material as the bath, which material may be fibre-glass, high density polythene or cast iron.
