Abstract

777,323. Mowing machines. LINET, J. A. BOUILLIANT-. Jan. 26, 1953 [Jan. 24, 1952], No. 2126/53. Class 6(3). A mowing machine comprises a cutter bar 2 pivotally connected to a carrier arm 8 and a link 15 arranged to hinge the cutter bar upwardly by the action of raising the arm 8. As shown the arm 8 is fixed to a tube 9 on which is mounted an arm 16 which is connected by a rod 17 to a tractor hydraulic lifting mechanism. The cutter bar is reciprocated by means of a crank 24 mounted on a shaft 25 rotatable inside the tube 9, the shaft being driven by belt gearing 26 from the tractor power shaft 27. To avoid damage to the cutter bar a suitable break-away device including a collapsable strut may be provided. When in the raised position the cutter bar is held rigid by means of a strut attached to the cutter bar and to a ring 19.
