Abstract

845,643. Hedgecutters. TEAGLE, W. T. April 29, 1959 [Jan. 29, 1958], No. 3002/58. Class 6(2). A hedgecutter comprises a supporting frame 9 mounted on a tractor and rocked about a horizontal axis by one arm 14 of the tractor hydraulic lift, a laterally extending boom 39 mounted on the frame and a work-head mounted on the boom. As shown the boom is pivotally mounted on the frame and is prevented from moving by a spring controlled keeper 45 which is capable of yielding to permit the boom to swing rearwardly on meeting an obstruction, an abutment 59 being provided to limit the rear-ward movement of the boom. The workhead includes reciprocating cutters which are driven by belt gearing from a tractor power shaft 32.
