Abstract

777,265. Heated tipping wagons. LAWRENCE, H. M. Jan. 23, 1956 [Oct. 28, 1954], No. 31148/54. Class 107 A tipping wagon for distributing a hot mixture of aggregate and tar or the like having a lagged body and a heater, has the latter adapted to be connected to a source of heating fluid or an electrical supply to maintain the heat when the wagon is standing with -its engine off, the exhaust gases from the latter normally being the heating medium. The heater is built into the bottom of the tipping body and comprises a flat plate 17 and a corrugated plate 16 united together, the conduits thus formed being supplied with heated fluid by headers 18, 19, the former having an exhaust gas inlet 20 (see Specification 735,205) and a steam inlet 22 normally closed by a cap 23. Gas outlets 21 are fitted to the other header. In an alternative construction an electric heater is fitted to the flat plate 17 and the corrugated plate interrupted to accommodate it. According to the Provisional Specification oil, solid fuel, or electrical heaters can be used to heat air tor liquid which is then passed through the heater.
