776,089. Respiratory appliances. AUER GES AKT.-GES. March 18, 1955 [April 6, 1954; April 7, 1954], No. 7957/55. Addition to 744,718. Class 81(2) [Also in Group XXIX] An oxygen-supply valve for breathing apparatus as claimed in the parent Specification has a second chamber 46 connected through a throttle 48 to the chamber 45 between the diaphragm 5 controlling the oxygen supply valve 12 and the auxiliary valve 31. When oxygen under pressure is connected at 7 the diaphragm 5 and valve 12 are raised to allow a scavenging flow of oxygen through the apparatus for the length of time it takes the oxygen to flow through the throttle 19 and establish an equal pressure on the top side of the diaphragm 5. This time is lengthened by the provision of the chamber 46 and throttle 48. The valve 12 may also be provided with a throttled axial passage providing a limited but continuously flowing constant oxygen allotment.
