775,734. Spray-producers. STEINKOHLENBERGWERK HANNOVER - HANNIBAL AKT.-GES. Aug. 16, 1955 [Aug. 16, 1954]. No. 23595/55. Class 69 (3). Liquid in a container 1 is atomized by a gas or vapour blown under pressure through openngs submerged in the liquid and arranged in a float member. In one embodiment the float member consists of annular tubes 3, 4, connecting tubes 5, and feed tubes 6 extending from a distributer 7. Compressed air is supplied from a feed-pipe 10 via a flexible pipe 9, and the air issues from outlets 2 in the walls of the annular tubes. The outlets, which may also be provided in the tubes 5, are preferably 20-50 m.m. below the surface level of the liquid and may comprise horizontal or annular slits. The tubes 3, 4 may be other than circular in cross-section and general form. Alternatively the float member may comprise a closed cylindrical vessel fed with gas through its upper wall, and with rows of outlets in its peripheral surface below the liquid level.
